Why We Went Fully Electric - And Why It Matters for the Ride

The BMW i5 and Mercedes EQV are not political statements. They are simply the quieter, smoother, better cars for the back seat.

Prime Limousine went fully electric in 2024, not because the industry pushed us to, but because our guests kept telling us the same thing after every trial: the electric cars felt calmer. That is the whole reason. The environmental story is real and it matters, but for the person in the back seat, the real difference is what the ride actually feels like.

Silence, properly

A modern combustion S-Class is quiet. A BMW i5 is on a different level - no engine, no gear-change, no vibration through the seat base. On a call, your voice does not have to lift over an ambient hum. Watching a video, you hear the video. Sleeping on a late-night airport transfer, you actually sleep. The absence of noise is one of those things you don't notice until it's gone, and then you never want it back.

Instant, smooth acceleration

Electric motors deliver torque instantly and linearly - no downshift kick when overtaking on the motorway, no shudder pulling away from lights. For a passenger with a laptop open, that means coffee stays in the cup and the trackpad doesn't jump. For a nervous flyer being driven to the airport, it means a genuinely calming drive.

Range that fits real work

The BMW i5 has 500+ km of real-world range; the Mercedes EQV has 350 km. A full Copenhagen–Aarhus round-trip, a day of city meetings plus an evening event, a wedding day across three venues - none of these require a mid-day charge. Every car returns to our depot at night and starts the next day with a full battery, warmed and cleaned.

The environmental part

Denmark's grid is 70%+ renewable, and our depot charging uses certified green electricity. A full day of chauffeur work in an EQV produces roughly a tenth of the CO₂ of the equivalent diesel V-Class. For corporate clients with scope-3 travel reporting, we provide simple per-trip emissions summaries on request.

What we haven't given up

Range anxiety, cold-weather panic and any "but what if…" scenarios - none of them are your problem. That is our depot's job, not yours. All you notice is that the car is silent, the acceleration is smooth and every arrival feels a little more composed than the trip before.
