Cruise Season in Copenhagen: How to Transfer Like a VIP
From Ocean Quay to your hotel without the queues. Our playbook for cruise guests arriving in the Danish capital.
Between May and September, Copenhagen welcomes more than 900,000 cruise passengers across three main terminals - Ocean Quay (Oceankaj), Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod. A chauffeur transfer isn't just about comfort here; it's about skipping the queue for one of 60 coaches leaving at the same time.
Know your terminal
The three terminals sit within 3 km of each other but the experience is very different. Ocean Quay handles the largest ships (MSC, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian) and is furthest from the city - about 15 minutes to Nyhavn. Langelinie is closest to the Little Mermaid and a 5-minute drive to top hotels. Nordre Toldbod hosts smaller expedition and luxury vessels right in the city.
The pre-arrival playbook
- Send us your cabin number the night before - we coordinate with the cruise line's disembarkation schedule so you never wait outside.
- Choose 'priority disembarkation' with your ship if it's offered; we arrive at your terminal 20 minutes before your slot.
- For families and larger groups, an EQV or Sprinter with a luggage trailer means every suitcase goes in one vehicle.
Same-day city tours
Many guests have a full day between ship and flight. A 3–4 hour chauffeur tour of Copenhagen - Nyhavn, the Royal Palace, Rosenborg Castle, Christiania and a stop at a Michelin-starred lunch - is the cleanest way to see the city with luggage safely in the car.
Onward to the airport
From Ocean Quay to CPH airport is roughly 30 minutes outside rush hour, longer during the 08:00 disembarkation peak. We book direct-to-check-in transfers so you clear security within 45 minutes of stepping off the gangway.
